Tamirace Fakhoury is an Associate Professor of International Politics and Conflict at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University. She previously held positions at Aalborg University (Denmark), Sciences Po (Paris), and the Lebanese American University. Her research focuses on power-sharing, post-conflict democratization, refugee governance, and Middle East politics, with a particular emphasis on EU policies in the Mediterranean region. She has led major projects such as the Carnegie-funded 'Resilience and Inclusive Governance in the post-2011 Middle East' and co-leads the GCRF-funded 'Rights for Time' project analyzing policy timeframes in conflict settings.
Education: PhD in Political Science (University of Freiburg), MA in International Affairs (Lebanese American University), and MA equivalency in International Politics (University of Freiburg). Professional fellowships include the Alexander von Humboldt, Jean Monnet, and Carlsberg Monograph awards. She serves on editorial boards for journals like Refugee Survey Quarterly and advises initiatives such as the Gerda Henkel Foundation's Forced Migration program.
Teaching interests include conflict management, migration policy, and Middle East politics. She has held visiting roles at UC Berkeley and currently maintains adjunct affiliations at Sciences Po's Paris School of International Affairs. Her work bridges academic research with policy engagement, addressing systemic challenges in conflict-affected regions and advocating for marginalized political actors.
