Tami L. Moore is an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator for the Higher Education and Student Affairs Program at the School of Educational Foundations, Leadership, and Aviation, Oklahoma State University. Her work bridges community-university engagement, racial justice, and democratic dialogue, with a focus on urban-serving institutions and equitable partnerships.
- Ph.D. in Cultural Studies and Social Thought in Higher Education from Washington State University
- M.S. and B.A. in History from Oklahoma State University
Moore’s research explores:
- Racial equity in place-based community-university collaborations
- Epistemological diversity in doctoral education
- Coalition-based strategies for systemic public challenges
- Civic leadership and moral reasoning in student affairs
Her recent publications analyze institutional whiteness, youth empowerment programs like Public Achievement, and cross-sector partnerships. Awards include the AERA Dissertation of the Year Award. Moore supervises doctoral research and co-founded the OSU-Tulsa Center for Public Life, leading initiatives such as Dialogues4Change. She collaborates with the Kettering Foundation and serves on editorial boards for community engagement journals.
