Tami Howe

Tami Howe is an Associate Professor at the School of Audiology & Speech Sciences, University of British Columbia. She holds a B.Ed. from Saskatchewan, an M.H.Sc. in Speech Pathology from Toronto, and a Ph.D. from Queensland. Prior to joining UBC, she served as faculty in the Department of Communication Disorders at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand.

Her research focuses on the lived experiences of adults with aphasia and their families, aiming to improve quality of life through enhanced communication strategies. This work bridges clinical practice and theoretical understanding in neurogenic communication disorders.

Tami has extensive clinical experience as a speech-language pathologist in Canada and New Zealand, working with both adult and pediatric populations. Her expertise informs her teaching and research at UBC, where she contributes to advancing speech sciences and audiology.
