Tameka Clarke-Douglas is a Collegiate Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering Education at Virginia Tech and Coordinator of the Undergraduate Teaching Assistants Training and Support Program. She holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Education from Purdue University, with additional degrees in Civil Engineering and Secondary Mathematics certification. Prior to academia, she worked as a Civil/Structural Design Engineer and directed the first Civil Engineering program at the University of Technology-Jamaica.

Research Focus: Dr. Clarke-Douglas investigates communities of practice in undergraduate engineering to enhance student engagement and retention. Her work emphasizes leveraging peer support networks and undergraduate teaching assistants as resources for improving learning experiences. She also studies programmatic interventions to foster diversity and inclusion in engineering education.
Labs/Teams: She leads the Undergraduate Teaching Assistants program in the College of Engineering, which trains and supports student mentors in foundational engineering courses.
