Dr. Tamara Pringsheim is a Professor at the University of Calgary with joint appointments in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, and Community Health Sciences. She holds significant leadership roles including Program Lead for the Tourette and Pediatric Movement Disorders program at Alberta Children’s Hospital, Deputy Director of Clinical Research at the Mathison Centre for Mental Health Research and Education, and President of the Tourette OCD Alberta Network. She also serves as an Evidence-Based Medicine Methodologist for the American Academy of Neurology.
Her research specializes at the intersection of movement disorders, neuropsychiatry, and neurodevelopmental disorders, with Tourette syndrome as the core focus. She develops evidence-based solutions to address critical healthcare gaps including inappropriate medication use, limited care access, and lack of treatment standards.
