Dr. Tamara Montag-Smit is an Assistant Professor and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Coordinator in Leadership/Organizational Studies at the University of Massachusetts Lowell's Manning School of Business, Department of Management. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Saint Louis University, and a B.A. in Psychology and German from Marquette University.
Her research focuses on contemporary issues in Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior, with emphasis on:
- Compensation strategies including pay transparency regulations and secrecy policies
- Workplace creativity dynamics and creative problem-solving processes
- Employee well-being in evolving work contexts (remote/hybrid arrangements)
- Organizational fairness perceptions and policy effectiveness
Publications demonstrate strong thematic focus on compensation systems (7 papers), workplace psychology (8 papers), and organizational adaptation to modern work trends. Recent work increasingly addresses post-pandemic workplace challenges including hybrid work sustainability and employee trust rebuilding.
