Tamara Clapper

Tamara Clapper is a Lecturer in the School of Nursing at the University of West Florida's College of Health. She holds a Doctorate of Nursing in Leadership from Capella University (2023) and has extensive clinical experience in critical care and emergency nursing. Her career began as a patient care technician, evolving through roles as a Registered Nurse in emergency rooms and critical care units. She has precepted students and trained new nurses, emphasizing knowledge-sharing and clinical skill development.

Dr. Clapper completed her BSN online and her MSN in Nursing Education before transitioning to full-time academia. She adjunct-taught while pursuing her doctorate and joined UWF in October 2023 as a full-time faculty member. Her professional focus includes nursing education innovation and leadership in healthcare education.

Her career highlights include disaster relief nursing during hurricanes and teaching associate-level nursing students. She currently teaches at UWF, describing it as her most fulfilling nursing career experience.
