Tamara Acosta

Tamara Acosta is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Voice at the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, Ithaca College. With a performance career spanning major opera and concert stages, including Lyric Opera Chicago and The Santa Fe Opera, she combines her expertise in 'bel canto' vocal training with a commitment to advancing diversity in music.

She maintains an active concert schedule, performing works such as Verdi’s Requiem, Poulenc’s Gloria, and Vaughan Williams’ The Sea Symphony. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes empowering singers to develop their unique artistic identities while mastering technical foundations.
