Dr. Tamar Ginossar is a Professor of Communication at the University of New Mexico (UNM), with primary affiliation in the College of Communication and Journalism. She holds multiple leadership roles, including Director of the Institute for Social Research (ISR), Community Engagement Core Leader of NM-INSPIRES, and Communication & Health Literacy Specialist at the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center. She earned her Ph.D. in Communication from UNM in 2003.
Research Focus: Her work centers on health communication to reduce disparities, leveraging mixed-methods approaches and community partnerships. Key areas include vaccine misinformation, journalist well-being in conflict zones, and cancer clinical trial engagement. She emphasizes multilevel interventions at individual, organizational, and policy levels.
