Dr. Tamar Berenblum is a Post-Doc Research Fellow at the Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement (NSCR), Netherlands, and the HUJI Cyber Security Research Center (H-CSRC) at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Rachel and Selim Benin School of Computer Science and Engineering, Israel. She serves as Research Director of the H-CSRC Cyber Law Program under the Faculty of Law. Her research focuses on cybercrime, social control in cyberspace, victimology, and online-shaming dynamics.

Research Interests:
Tamar examines the internet as both a sphere and tool for social control over deviant activities. Her work analyzes online social control practices, applies traditional social control theories to cyberspace, and explores deterrence, prevention, and legal frameworks for computer crimes. She also investigates developments in victimology and the accessibility of legal proceedings via language.

- Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) and project manager in interdisciplinary research teams
