Dr. Tal Vaizman is a social musicologist and CASJE Applied Research Fellow, focusing on the intersection of popular culture, migration, and identity/community. His research examines how engagement with music and popular culture fosters expression, identity, and belonging among Israeli Jewish youth in the USA and other American Jews. He collaborates with Professor Yotam Shmargad of the University of Arizona.
Dr. Vaizman holds a doctorate from the University of Haifa in musicology and education. His current research explores music mentoring, the role of music in everyday life among Jewish religious women, and the cultural significance of music streaming in immigrant communities.
