Takashi Yoshida is Professor of History and Director of the Michitoshi Soga Japan Center at Western Michigan University. He teaches world history, Japanese civilization, modern Japan, WWII in American and Japanese history, and Japanese history through film and literature.
His research focuses on war and memory in the Pacific region, examining how historical events are interpreted across different cultures and time periods. He holds a Ph.D. in History from Columbia University (2001), M.I.A. from Columbia University (1992), and dual B.A. degrees in Political Science and Law.
