معرفی
Takashi Namba is a Senior Researcher at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Helsinki, affiliated with the Neuroscience Center. He serves as a Supervisor for the Doctoral Programme in Integrative Life Science and the Doctoral Programme Brain & Mind, while holding the title of Docent in Faculty Common Matters. His work bridges neuroscience and evolutionary biology, focusing on the metabolic and epigenetic regulation of neocortical development.
Recent research outputs highlight his investigations into mitochondrial dynamics in radial glial cells, human-specific metabolic regulators, and genetic mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental disorders. His 2024-2025 publications span journals like Nature Communications, Journal of Comparative Neurology, and Trends in Neurosciences, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches.
Namba leads the project Deciphering the role of evolutionarily adapted neural stem/progenitor cell metabolism in human neocortex development and neurodevelopmental disorders (2025–2029), funded by the Academy of Finland. Collaborations span subcellular imaging, metabolic regulation, and translational neuroscience, reflecting his integration of cellular and systems-level perspectives.
