Tait Keller serves as Associate Professor of History and Chair of the History Department at Rhodes College, where he integrates environmental history, war and society, and modern Europe into his curriculum. His teaching emphasizes experiential learning through field trips to locations like Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park, Chucalissa Archeological Site, and the Lower Mississippi River.
His research centers on environmental history during crises, particularly focusing on energy geopolitics in World War I and Alpine nationalism. Keller's scholarship bridges historical analysis with contemporary environmental concerns through global perspectives.
Keller's publications reveal consistent exploration of environmental transformation during conflict, with emphasis on the paradoxical relationship between warfare and ecological change. His work demonstrates how home fronts and battle lines interconnected with industrial and agricultural systems to reshape global environments.
