Tai-Quan Winson Peng is a Professor in the Department of Communication at Michigan State University (MSU), specializing in computational social science, health communication, audience analysis, and political communication. He earned his Ph.D. from the City University of Hong Kong. Prior to MSU, he held positions at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and Macau University of Science and Technology.
As Editor-in-Chief of Human Communication Research and Guest Co-Editor of a special issue on Time in Communication Research and Theories at the Journal of Communication, he leads interdisciplinary research initiatives. His work bridges communication science with computational methods, including text analysis, network modeling, and big data applications.
Recent publications focus on computational communication research, misinformation resilience, AI-driven social media analysis, and algorithmic bias assessment. His research has appeared in top-tier journals such as PLOS One, IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, and Communication Methods and Measures.
Peng’s affiliations include the Quello Center and Health and Risk Communication Center at MSU. His contributions span academic leadership, editorial roles, and collaborative projects in computational communication science.
