Tahsin Yomralıoğlu

Prof. Dr. Tahsin Yomralıoğlu is a Professor in the Department of Geomatics Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), part of the Civil Engineering Faculty. He holds a PhD from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. His research focuses on Land Management, GIS in Urban Planning, Cadastre Systems, and Geomatics. He has held leadership roles such as Director of Research and Application Center at ITU and chaired major events like the World Cadastre Summit (2014-2015). His work spans disaster management, smart cities, and sustainable development. Notable achievements include awards from ITU (2023), the Ministry of Environment (2015), and the Piri Reis Map Association (2012). He is a member of international organizations like FIG and has contributed to policy-making through roles in Turkish engineering unions. His academic contributions include over a dozen books and edited volumes, such as Geographic Information Systems: Basic Concepts and Applications and Cadastre: Geo-information Innovations in Land Administration.
