Ergin Tarı

Prof. Ergin Tarı is a Professor at the Department of Geomatics Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Istanbul Technical University (ITU). He holds a post-doctoral qualification from MIT and has served as Head of Department from 2009-2012. His research focuses on Measurement Techniques, GIS in Planning, Geodesy, Engineering Measurements, and Disaster Management.

Research Interests: Prof. Tarı’s work integrates geomatics technologies into disaster management and urban planning. He explores advanced measurement systems and spatial data analysis for civil engineering applications, leveraging GIS and geodetic techniques to address environmental and infrastructural challenges.

Administrative Roles: He served as Head of the Department of Geomatics Engineering (2009–2012) and held leadership positions in academic administration at ITU. His career spans roles from Research Assistant (1989–1998) to full Professor.
