Taher Hassan

Dr. Taher Hassan is an Instructor in Civil Engineering Technology at SAIT's School of Construction. A professional engineer (P.Eng.) registered in Alberta, he holds a PhD in Geomatics Engineering from the University of Calgary, an MSc in Surveying and Photogrammetry from Ain Shams University, and a BSc in Civil Engineering from the same institution.

With 25 years of multidisciplinary experience, his expertise spans geomatics, structural engineering, and transportation engineering. Specialized areas include photogrammetry, geodesy, digital terrain modeling, earthworks, deformation monitoring, and emerging applications of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and drone technology in civil engineering.

Internationally, he served as Secretary of Working Group I/3 for the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) from 2008-2012.
