TAN Cheng Han

Professor TAN Cheng Han, S.C. is a distinguished legal scholar serving as Chief Strategy Officer at NUS Law and Professor at the National University of Singapore's Faculty of Law. He previously served as Dean of NUS Law (2001–2011), Chairman of the NUS E W Barker Centre for Law and Business (2012–2019), and Dean of City University of Hong Kong School of Law (2019–2022). His current roles include Senior Consultant at Wong Partnership LLP, Chairman of Singapore Exchange Regulation Pte Ltd, and President of the Asian Law Schools Association.

His education includes an LLM from the University of Cambridge and LLB from NUS. His research focuses on agency law, corporate governance, and the intersection of technology with legal systems. Recent works explore metaverse governance, artificial intelligence in agency agreements, and China’s corporate reforms.

Professor Tan actively contributes to public service, holding roles in the Public Accountants Oversight Committee, Media Literacy Council, and Military Court of Appeal. His professional practice includes arbitration and counsel work, with numerous arbitral appointments globally.
