T. Douglas Mast

T. Douglas Mast is Professor and Graduate Program Director in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati, where he directs the Biomedical Acoustics Laboratory. He holds a doctorate in Physical Chemistry from the University of Oxford and specializes in therapeutic ultrasound applications.

Research focuses on ultrasound applications in thermal ablation therapy, including real-time monitoring techniques using echo decorrelation imaging. Additional work explores ultrasound-mediated drug delivery, cavitation detection, speech biofeedback systems, and proton therapy monitoring. Innovations include novel algorithms for ablation control and image-guided therapeutic systems.

Recent publications demonstrate advancements in 3D echo decorrelation imaging for ablation monitoring, development of speech biofeedback interfaces, and reconstruction methods for radiation therapy applications.
