Syrine Sassi is an Associate Professor at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa, holding the Power Corporation of Canada - Paul Desmarais Professorship in Finance. She earned her PhD in Finance from Université Paris-Est-Créteil, Val-de-Marne (2017), and holds advanced degrees from Institut Supérieur de Gestion de Sousse (B.A. and M.Sc., both Summa Cum Laude). Prior roles include Associate Professorships at Paris School of Business and South Champagne Business School, alongside visiting scholar appointments at Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Her research focuses on corporate financial management, governance, and environmental sustainability, analyzing regulatory impacts and product market competition. Notable contributions include studies on green bonds, cybersecurity's financial implications, and board reforms. She has published in top journals like Journal of Corporate Finance, European Financial Management, and Global Finance Journal.
Professor Sassi is a leading organizer of international conferences, including the 2024 International Conference on Sustainable Development & Business Ethics and the 2023 Workshop on Climate Change and Energy Finance. Her funded research includes a $20,000 project on cyberattack consequences (2022-2024). Teaching expertise spans Corporate Finance, Financial Analysis, and Risk Management.
She co-authored Sustainability Management in Corporations (2023, Springer) and contributed chapters on green bonds and cryptocurrency in Climate Finance & Accountability (2023, World Scientific).
