Synthia Guimond holds the title of Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University's Department of Psychology within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. She concurrently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychoeducation and Psychology at the University of Quebec in Outaouais and in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Ottawa. Additionally, she is a scientist at the Royal’s Institute of Mental Health Research (IMHR) and director of the Cognitive Remediation and Neuroimaging laboratory.
Her research focuses on developing evidence-based treatments to address cognitive dysfunctions in psychiatric disorders, aiming to improve patients' social and professional integration. She also investigates the underlying brain mechanisms of these cognitive impairments.
Dr. Guimond earned her Ph.D. from McGill University. While no specific awards, grants, or advisees are listed, her work emphasizes translational research bridging neuroscience and clinical practice.
