Sara Tremblay

Dr. Sara Tremblay is a researcher affiliated with the University of Ottawa and The Royal’s Institute of Mental Health Research (IMHR). She holds a PhD in Neuropsychology from Université de Montréal and completed postdoctoral training at University College London (Neurology) and The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (Psychiatry). Her academic focus is on neuromodulation techniques, including transcranial magnetic stimulation, with an emphasis on optimizing treatments for mental health disorders. She is a registered neuropsychologist in Québec and currently pursuing licensure in Ontario.

Research interests center on neuromodulation as biomarkers for neurological conditions (e.g., sport concussions) and developing tailored protocols for depression treatment. Her current work includes establishing a neuromodulation laboratory at IMHR to refine treatment efficacy through neurobiological marker exploration.

Her grants include CIHR and FRSQ postdoctoral funding. She aims to create shorter, more effective neuromodulation protocols for patients unresponsive to standard therapies.

Dr. Tremblay’s lab at IMHR focuses on advancing neuromodulation paradigms while evaluating treatment outcomes through neurobiological metrics.
