Synnøve Yndestad is a Researcher at the Department of Clinical Science, University of Bergen, affiliated with Haukeland University Hospital. Her work focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying breast cancer, particularly the roles of PTEN, BRCA1, and related signaling pathways. She investigates genetic and epigenetic factors influencing tumor behavior and treatment response, including homologous recombination deficiency, Akt signaling, and pseudogene functions. Yndestad has contributed to clinical trials evaluating targeted therapies like olaparib for triple-negative breast cancer, as well as studies on germline variants in pediatric sarcomas and the impact of lymphatic dysfunction on cancer progression. She holds a doctoral dissertation on PTEN’s role in breast cancer and has published extensively in high-impact journals such as JCO Precision Oncology and Molecular Cancer Research.
