Sylvain Landry is a Professor and Director of the Department of Logistics and Operations Management at HEC Montréal. He holds a M.Sc.A. from Polytechnique Montréal and a Ph.D. in Administration from HEC Montréal. His expertise focuses on continuous improvement methodologies, Lean Healthcare systems, and supply chain resilience. Landry has authored influential books such as Lean, kata et système de gestion and contributed to over 75 peer-reviewed publications. He has received prestigious awards, including the Shingo Publication Award (2023) and the HEC Montréal Research Impact Prize (2023).
His research emphasizes healthcare logistics during crises, strategic supply chain deployment, and Toyota Kata methodologies. Landry supervises MSc theses and projects on topics ranging from Lean transformation in schools to proactive supply chain management in healthcare. He teaches courses like Stratégie des opérations et amélioration des processus, integrating theoretical frameworks with practical industry cases.
Landry’s work bridges academia and practice, collaborating with organizations like Pratt & Whitney Canada and Bell Réseau. His leadership in developing the Integrated Performance Management System highlights his commitment to systemic organizational improvement.
