Syed Waqas Shah

Dr. Syed Waqas Shah is a Part-Time Lecturer (Casual) in the Department of Management at Macquarie Business School, Macquarie University, where he joined in August 2022. Previously, he worked as a sessional academic at both Macquarie University and the University of New South Wales. He holds a PhD in Management (2021) from Macquarie University, where his dissertation examined The Impact of Subjective Time on Employee Organizational Behaviors in Temporary Organizations, and a Master's by Research in Project Management focusing on personality moderators in organizational justice.

His research explores interdisciplinary themes including:

• Financial wellbeing and economic resilience mechanisms
• Temporal perception (polychronicity) in organizational contexts
• Behavioral drivers of employee turnover and exhaustion
• Housing affordability challenges for young Australians
• Workload dynamics and organizational fit

Recent publications (2024) demonstrate two primary research streams: organizational behavior studies examining polychronicity's mediation effects on turnover intentions, and socioeconomic investigations into housing accessibility and financial resilience. His work frequently employs mediation analysis and behavioral modeling across management and economic contexts.
