Dr. Swetha Sampathkumar is a Research Fellow and Postdoctoral Research Associate (2023–2026) at Cardiff University, UK, working on the FLOURISH project within DECIPHer (Development, Evaluation, Complexity and Implementation in Public Health Improvement). She is affiliated with the School of Social Sciences.
Dr. Sampathkumar holds a PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Warwick, where she developed a lifestyle intervention to prevent Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) in Indian women using mixed-methods research. Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary, bottom-up approaches to address health inequalities in low-resource settings, particularly in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).
Her research focuses on co-developing and implementing behavior change and health promotion interventions. She is involved in Work Packages 1 and 4 of the FLOURISH project, funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe program and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
