Swapna Suresh is a Professor of Dance at the College of Arts and Sciences, Lehigh University, where she contributes to the academic and artistic community through her expertise in Bharatanatyam. She holds a Bachelors in Computer Science, a Masters in Information Technology, and a Master of Arts in Bharatanatyam from the University of Madras, India, blending technology with her passion for dance.
Her research and artistic practice focus on:
- Bharatanatyam (one of India's oldest classical dance forms)
- Contemporary dance choreography
- Bollywood and folk dance integration
- Dance pedagogy and cultural preservation
She has performed internationally, winning awards and commendations, and co-founded the Mayura Academy of Dance in Allentown, PA (2011), which promotes Indian classical and folk dance forms.
