Sven Kilian is an Assistant Professor of Sustainable Entrepreneurship at the University of Groningen’s Campus Fryslân. His research focuses on sustainable consumption, consumer psychology, and marketing management, particularly exploring how social norms and collective initiatives drive environmentally responsible behavior. He holds a PhD and has published extensively on topics ranging from consumer cooperatives to the intention-action gap in ethical purchasing decisions.
Key research interests include understanding motivational factors behind sustainable consumption, analyzing the role of social and moral norms in consumer decisions, and designing marketing strategies that align with circular economy principles. His interdisciplinary approach bridges marketing, psychology, and environmental science to address real-world sustainability challenges.
Recent publications emphasize community-based approaches to sustainable consumption, the influence of indirect questioning techniques in revealing ethical consumer behavior, and the intersection of religious narratives with territorialization in early modern drama. Kilian’s work contributes to both academic discourse and practical business strategies for fostering responsible consumer practices.
