Svante Lundgren is an Associate Professor and Researcher at Lund University, specializing in History of Religions. He is affiliated with the Center for Middle East Studies (CMES) and the MECW (The Middle East in the Contemporary World) project, as well as Jewish Studies and Affiliated Judaic Studies. His ORCID identifier is 0000-0003-1159-5882.
Lundgren's research focuses on religious studies with particular emphasis on Jewish studies and Middle Eastern Christian minorities. His original area of research was Jewish studies, where he primarily investigated modern Jewish thought, anti-Semitism, and Jewish-Christian relations. More recently, he has been involved in Middle Eastern research, focusing on Christian minorities in and from the Middle East, especially Assyrians and Armenians. His work connects to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to peace, justice, and reduced inequalities.
