Suzy Merrifield is a Lecturer in Arts & Fashion at Solent University, where she teaches Design Theory and Practice across the Foundation Design and BA programs. She leads the first-year Makeup and Hair Design students, ensuring academic and personal support. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), she has been employed at Solent since 2017. Her research focuses on fashion photography, modernist aesthetics, and feminist theory, particularly examining 1920s–1960s fashion imagery and its negotiation of gender, sexuality, and power. She is pursuing a part-time PhD in Fashion Photography at Suffolk University.
