Suzette Caleo is Associate Professor and Graduate Advisor in the Department of Public Administration at Louisiana State University's E. J. Ourso College of Business. With a PhD in Social/Personality Psychology from New York University (2012), her research examines organizational justice, workplace diversity, and stereotyping/discrimination through the lens of gender dynamics in professional settings.
Her research program critically investigates:
- How gender stereotypes translate into workplace bias and discrimination
- Unintended consequences of diversity interventions
- Intersection of organizational justice rules and gendered reactions to fairness violations
- Practical applications for diversifying male-dominated professions like law enforcement
Dr. Caleo's publication record demonstrates sustained impact across top journals including the Annual Review of Organizational Psychology (2024) and Journal of Applied Psychology. Recent work (2023-2024) shows increased emphasis on actionable frameworks for organizational change, particularly through intergroup contact theory applications.
She received the Outstanding Untenured Professor Teaching Award in 2018. As Graduate Advisor, Dr. Caleo oversees student development and curriculum design. Her extensive collaboration network with scholars like Madeline Heilman suggests active research funding, though no formal laboratory structure is maintained.
