Suzanne Starks

Dr. Suzanne Starks is a Professor in the Teacher Education Department at Concordia University, St. Paul. She teaches K-6 and Birth to Grade licensure tracks, supervises early childhood practicum/student teaching, and chairs the early childhood licensure program.

Her research focuses on Early Childhood Education, Language & Literacy development, and Learning through Play pedagogy. She has 15+ years of experience as a preschool teacher and program administrator in private Christian childcare and charter school settings.

Dr. Starks currently works as a consultant for the Minnesota state Social Emotional Pyramid Model program, provides classroom coaching/training for teachers, and presents at professional conferences to share/expand her expertise in early childhood education.
