Dr. Kellie D. Young is an Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education at Oklahoma Baptist University (OBU), serving since 2014. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from East Central University (Ada, OK), an M.Ed. in Educational Technology from the same institution, and an Ed.D. in Early Childhood Education from Northcentral University (Prescott Valley, AZ). Prior to academia, she spent 14 years in public school education, teaching grades K–5 in Moss Public School and Grove Elementary School. Her certifications include Oklahoma licensure in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Middle School Language Arts/Social Studies.
Her research focuses on brain-based instructional strategies for early childhood educators, as evidenced by her dissertation: *Brain-based Instructional Training for Early Childhood Teachers: Is It Enough?* She teaches courses such as *Intro to Early Childhood Education*, *Child/Family/Community Relations*, and *Language Development in the Young Child*. Professional memberships include NAEYC, NAECTE, OAECTE, SECA, and ILA.
Dr. Young’s work emphasizes bridging theory and practice in early childhood pedagogy, with a focus on fostering literacy, cognitive development, and effective teacher training.
