Dr. Suzanne Matheson is an Associate Professor in the Department of English and Creative Writing at the University of Windsor. Her research focuses on British Romantic literature, visual art, and aesthetic theory, with a particular emphasis on William Blake's illuminated books and 18th-19th century cultural practices. She holds a B.A. (Hons) from McGill University, an M.A. from the University of Toronto, and a D.Phil. from the University of Oxford (Oxon).
Her work explores intersections between literature, visual arts, and optical technologies. Notable projects include Enchanting Ruin: Tintern Abbey & Romantic Tourism in Wales, curated for the University of Michigan Special Collections Library, and collaborative studies on the Claude mirror with the BBC and the Max Planck Institute. She has contributed to the Oxford Companion to the Romantic Age and the Times Literary Supplement.
