Mark Crosby is an Associate Professor at Kansas State University's Department of English. He holds a D.Phil. from the University of Oxford and specializes in Romantic-period literary and visual culture. His research focuses on William Blake, including discoveries of Blake's earliest engraved art and reconstruction of portrait arrangements.
His research explores how authors and artists negotiated patronage economies during the long eighteenth-century, with a current monograph in progress about Blake's patronage experiences.
As editorial advisor for Nineteenth-Century Literature Criticism and associate editor for the William Blake Archive, he contributes to major digital humanities initiatives. His work has been featured on BBC Radio 4 and in publications like The Times and Smithsonian Magazine.
