Dr. Suzanne Lazorick is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Public Health at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine. Her work focuses on childhood obesity research, community-level prevention strategies, and quality improvement in primary care. She also teaches medical students, residents, and graduate students in population health and prevention.

Dr. Lazorick’s research spans school-based obesity interventions (e.g., the MATCH program), health disparities, and health systems science education. She has developed clinical tools like the Pediatric Obesity Clinician Reference Guide and contributed to statewide obesity prevention initiatives in North Carolina.
Her recent publications emphasize adolescent health behaviors, dietary interventions, and health systems transformation. Themes include rural health disparities, behavioral determinants of obesity, and scalable quality improvement models.
