Robert A. Carels is a Professor and Director of Clinical Training in the Department of Psychology at East Carolina University. His research focuses on developing effective behavioral weight loss treatments and addressing weight stigma. He holds certifications including ABPP (Clinical Health Psychology) and is a Fellow of the Society of Behavioral Medicine.
Education:

- BA in Business from Michigan State University
Research Interests: Obesity treatment innovation, stepped-care models, weight bias reduction, and health disparities. He explores interventions like self-compassion training and media impact analysis.
