Suzanne Churcher is a Lecturer at the Department of Human Communication Sciences within the School of Allied Health Professions, Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Sheffield. She joined the university in 2017, following a role as Senior Lecturer at the University of Portsmouth, where she taught on FdSc and BSc courses in Speech, Language and Communication Sciences.

Research Interests
Her work focuses on early intervention for speech sound disorders, child development, and evidence-based practices in speech and language therapy. She has extensive clinical experience in pediatric care, particularly in early human development and supporting vulnerable families through multidisciplinary collaboration.

Professional Activities and Affiliations
Churcher contributes to the Clinical Excellence Network (CEN), has spoken at conferences such as the Primary Care and Public Health Conference 2018, and collaborated on initiatives like the Early Communication Support Service for Hampshire County Council. She is a registered independent speech and language therapist and a Research Champion for the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
Labs and Teams
She developed and managed the Early Communication Support Service, a multidisciplinary team of 10 SLTAs (Speech and Language Therapy Assistants) that provided training and support for early years practitioners, parents, and educators.
