Suzanne Aitken is a Lecturer in Dramatherapy at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, affiliated with the Division of Occupational Therapy and Arts Therapies (OTAT). She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Arts Therapist (Drama) and with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Mental Health Nurse. As a Full Member of The British Association of Dramatherapists, her work bridges clinical practice, theatre, and therapeutic interventions.

Her research focuses on the intersection of embodiment, trauma, and therapeutic practices, including:

- Historic Trauma and Emergent Auto-Immune Disorders
A former NHS professional with 24 years of service spanning Adult and Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services, Suzanne maintains a private practice in Dramatherapy and Clinical Supervision. She also provides Reflective Practice, Consultancy, and Supervision to third-sector agencies across Scotland.
