Stephanie Turner is a Lecturer and Programme Leader for the MSc Dramatherapy at Queen Margaret University. She is an HCPC-registered Dramatherapist with extensive experience in forensic mental health, perinatal mental health, and adult community mental health services. Her work spans NHS settings, third-sector organizations, and private practice, focusing on collaborative group therapy and embodied practices.
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Member of the British Association of Dramatherapists (BADth)
- Co-led the HCPC validation process for QMU's new MSc Dramatherapy
- Established specialist dramatherapy services in Scotland since 2010
Her research explores the application of dramatherapy in forensic psychiatry, traumatic birth experiences, and clinical resource development. She integrates active and playful processes into therapeutic pathways for male patients in secure forensic settings and offers consultancy in group supervision and reflective practice.
Stephanie's work aligns with QMU's focus on applied theatre practices and interdisciplinary collaboration within the OTAT Division. She continues to contribute to the field through private practice and partnerships with third-sector organizations across Scotland.
