Susie Vusbaumer is an Associate Professor of Classical Literature at the University of Rouen Normandy, affiliated with the UFR Letters and Human Sciences. She is a member of the ERIAC research institute (UR 4705), focusing on ancient theater, masks, and actor gestures in Greek tragedy. Her work bridges academic research and theatrical practice, with a particular interest in reconstructing and interpreting ancient performance techniques.

Dr. Vusbaumer explores the role of masks in Greek tragedy, the interplay between text and physical performance, and the reconstruction of lost theatrical practices. Her studies span Ancient Theater, Gesture Analysis, and the Symbolism of Masks in classical drama.

Her recent publications include analyses of mask usage in Aeschylean tragedies and collaborations with the Démodocos troupe.
