Susanne Sievers

Susanne Sievers is a Group Leader and currently the head of the Department of Microbial Physiology and Molecular Biology at the University of Greifswald. She holds a habilitation and venia legendi in microbiology and molecular biology (2024) and has been actively involved in research since completing her Biochemistry studies at the University of Greifswald (2000–2005). Her career includes postdoctoral work at institutions like the University of Michigan, USA, and SDU, Denmark.

Research Interests focus on microbial physiology, molecular biology, and proteomics, particularly the development and application of non-2-D gel-based techniques for studying challenging protein classes in Gram-positive bacteria. Her work bridges biochemical analysis and bacterial protein quantification.
