Susanne Montgomery

Dr. Susanne Montgomery is a Professor and Associate Dean for Research at Loma Linda University's School of Behavioral Health, with additional appointments in Preventive Medicine and Social Work. As a social/behavioral epidemiologist with over 30 years of research experience, she specializes in health disparities using mixed-method and community-based participatory approaches. Her work focuses on underserved populations including homeless youth, pregnant teens, and ethnic minorities.

Dr. Montgomery's research spans cancer prevention, HIV/AIDS, teen pregnancy, and substance abuse. She directs the Community Outreach and Partnership Core for the Center for Health Disparities Research and mentors faculty and students across the LLUH system. Her translational research includes developing culturally-specific health programs and advocating for policy changes in environmental justice communities.

She regularly serves as an NIH and CDC reviewer and has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles. Her teaching includes courses in evaluation research, qualitative/quantitative methods, and health disparities.
