Susanne Gerlach

Dr. Susanne Gerlach is a Researcher and Scientific Coordinator of the Graduate School Cross-Sectional Tasks in Teacher Education (GKqL) at the University of Duisburg-Essen since November 2021. She holds a PhD in Natural Sciences (2022) with a thesis focusing on didactics of personal care and standard development in vocational education. Her academic journey includes roles as a research assistant at the Institute for Chemistry Education and studies in Biotechnology, Protestant Theology, and Chemistry for vocational teaching.

Education:

• Studies in Biotechnology, Protestant Theology, and Chemistry for vocational teaching (2010–2015)
• Human Medicine studies (2007–2010)

Research Interests: Focuses on teacher education standards, interdisciplinary didactics in vocational colleges, and curriculum development for personal care and hygiene subjects. Active in implementing didactic innovations through collaborative research.
