معرفی
Susanne Gabrielsson is a Professor of Immunology at Karolinska Institutet's Department of Medicine, Solna. She leads the 'Extracellular Vesicles in Immunity' research group, focusing on exosomes' roles in immunity, cancer, and lung diseases. She holds academic positions including former Associate Professor (2008–2018) and has served on KI's Junior Faculty, Board of Research, and Council for Environment and Sustainable Development.
Education:
- BSc in Molecular Biology, Linköping University (1994)
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Stockholm University (1999)
- Postdoctoral Research at Institut Curie, Paris (1999–2001)
Research Interests: Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are central to her work, exploring their roles in physiological processes like immune regulation, cancer progression, and lung diseases such as sarcoidosis and COPD. Her lab investigates EV mechanisms for developing therapies using EVs in cancer immunotherapy and diagnostics.
Articles Trends: Recent work highlights EVs in cancer immunotherapy (e.g., antigen-loaded EVs enhancing T cell responses), diabetes complications (EV-mediated endothelial dysfunction), and asthma pathogenesis (EV signaling in T cell reprogramming). Over 130 publications span EV biology, clinical applications, and diagnostic tools.
Scientific Awards & Grants:
- Swedish Research Council grants
- Swedish Cancer Society and Heart-Lung Foundation funding
- Cancer and Allergy Fund awards (2024, 2022, 2021, 2019)
Advising & Grants: Funded projects include EV-based cancer vaccines and diabetes mechanisms. Her work bridges basic EV biology with translational medicine.
Labs & Teams: Her research group collaborates widely, focusing on EV cargo analysis, immune modulation, and disease biomarkers. Key partnerships include the KI Board of Research and international EV consortia.
