Dr. Susanne Bieker is a Senior Researcher and Coordinator of the interdisciplinary research group 'Transformation and Innovation Systems for Urban Areas' at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI). She holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from TU Darmstadt (2009) and has led research groups such as SEMIZENTRAL, focusing on integrated infrastructure systems for urban growth. Her work bridges technical, spatial, and policy dimensions of urban sustainability, with a focus on blue-green infrastructure, climate adaptation, and energy transition.
