Prof. Susanne Augenhofer is a Professor of Corporate Law at the University of Innsbruck's Institute for Corporate and Tax Law. She previously held professorships at Humboldt University Berlin and the University of Erfurt. Her research focuses on consumer law, antitrust law, European private law, and digital age legal challenges. She actively advises the European Commission and participates in initiatives like the European Law Institute (ELI).
Education: LL.M. from Yale Law School and University of Berlin, Dr. iur. from University of Vienna, Mag. iur. from University of Graz. She has held visiting professorships at NYU, Columbia, and LUISS Rome.
Research emphasizes efficient legal enforcement, EU harmonization, and digital transformation. Recent projects include analyzing the Digital Markets Act and third-party litigation funding. She co-founded the Humboldt Consumer Law Clinic and serves on advisory boards for ASCOLA and Smart Regulation initiatives.
Professional roles include membership in the European Commission's Consumer Policy Advisory Group and ELI's Council. She has advised on EU consumer and competition law directives, such as the Sales of Goods Directive and Digital Content Directive.
