Dr. Susan Schneider is an Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Marquette University's Opus College of Engineering. She holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a B.S. in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Her primary research explores modeling and control of linear/nonlinear systems, sensor applications, materials characterization, and innovative pedagogical methods. Current investigations include fireworks ballistics simulation and sensor system development.
Educational research focuses on laboratory instruction enhancement and curriculum development. Publications demonstrate strong emphasis on control theory applications, sensor technology, and engineering education methodologies.
Awards include the Eta Kappa Nu Outstanding Teacher Award and membership in Sigma Xi and Eta Kappa Nu honor societies. She has secured multiple NSF grants for educational initiatives and sensor research.
Dr. Schneider directs graduate students in control systems and sensor research, serves on university committees, and maintains affiliations with IEEE and ASEE. She coordinates the undergraduate program and advises student organizations.
