Susan Riner is a Teaching Professor of Mathematics and Quantitative Theory and Methods at Oxford College, Emory University. She has built a distinguished career in the Natural Sciences and Mathematics Division, designing Oxford's first mathematics lab to foster collaborative learning and peer tutoring while teaching courses ranging from calculus to game theory. Her recent work includes co-designing the Quantitative Theory and Methods (QTM) course and lab program.
Professor Riner's expertise spans mathematics education, quantitative methods, and statistics, with extensive teaching experience in Calculus, Linear Algebra, Mathematical Statistics, and History of Mathematics. Her pedagogical approach emphasizes active student engagement through innovative lab structures and real-world applications across quantitative disciplines.

As a dedicated mentor, Professor Riner has served decades as club advisor and Freshman Seminar/Learning to Lead facilitator, participating in corn mazes, karaoke, community service projects, and Atlanta cultural outings with students. Her community engagement includes Habitat for Humanity, Food Pantry, Alzheimer's Association, and prison ministry work.
She established Oxford's pioneering mathematics lab for collaborative learning and peer tutoring, and recently co-created the Quantitative Theory and Methods (QTM) program infrastructure. Her musical contributions as Oxford Chorale accompanist and convocation organist further demonstrate her interdisciplinary commitment to campus life.
